Yıldız Demir Çelik received approval for the steel mill and rolling mill project to be established in Kartepe

Yıldız Demir Çelik has started work to establish a giant steel mill and rolling mill factory in Kartepe.

Yıldız Demir Çelik received approval for the steel mill and rolling mill project to be established in Kartepe

Yıldız Demir Çelik will build a steel mill and rolling mill factory on an area of 240 thousand 635 square metres located in Kartepe Uzunbey Neighbourhood, Cumhuriyet Street, Bahçealtı and Çayırlar.

According to the project, the factory will produce 4 million tonnes of liquid steel per year. The hot rolling capacity of the factory will be 3 million 500 tonnes per year.

The EIA process for the project has been completed

The final decision on the project was made last month after the public participation meeting and the "Review and Evaluation Commission" meeting. The finalised EIA report was approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change. "EIA positive" decision was given for the project. Following the approval, the construction of the factory is expected to start in a short time.
