WorldSteel's visit to Erdemir

Erdemir hosted the members of the Economic Committee (ECON) of the World Steel Association (WorldSteel Association) in Ereğli. The field trip was attended by representatives of JFE Steel, Nippon Steel, China Baowu Steel Group, Metinvest, Worldsteel and the Turkish Steel Producers Association.

According to a statement, the Economic Committee, which represents steel producers, steel industry associations and research institutes from all over the world, works on capacity, production, demand and consumption forecasts for the global steel market in order to facilitate its members in planning and decision-making processes for the future.

ECON aims to provide fast and reliable information on trends in the steel market and key strategic issues affecting the future of the steel industry. ECON's working meeting was held in Istanbul on March 17-19 in coordination with WorldSteel and the Turkish Steel Producers Association. ECON members participated in the field trip organized for them after the meeting and received information about Erdemir facilities and the work carried out.
