World Steel Association announced the largest steel producers in the global market

According to the data announced by the World Steel Association, World Steel Production in 2021 increased by 3.8% compared to the previous year and amounted to 1 Billion 951 Million tons.

China's crude steel production, the world's largest steel producer, decreased by 3% from 1 billion 65 million tons to 1 billion 33 million tons.

Among the top 10 producers, the highest production growth was observed in the USA (18.3%), India (17.8%) and Japan (14.9%).

Increasing its production from 35.8 million tons to 40.4 million tons with an increase of 12.7%, Turkey left Germany behind and completed 2021 as the 7th largest steel producer in the world and the largest steel producer in Europe.

Chinese steelmaker Baowu Group became the company that produced the most crude steel with a production of 119.95 million tons in 2021.

Indian ArcelorMittal followed Baowu Group with 79.26 million tons, while China-based AnSteel, Japanese Nippon Steel and Chinese Shagang Group were also among the top 5 companies.

Six of the top 10 manufacturers and 11 of the 20 manufacturers on the list are Chinese companies, while 21 of the 40 largest manufacturers operate in China.

In the list of the world's largest crude steel producers announced by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel), 4 producers from Turkey took place.

HABAŞ, Tosyalı Holding and İÇDAŞ from Turkey also entered the list, in which Erdemir ranked 48th with a production of 9.02 million tons in 2021.

In the list, Tosyalı Holding ranked 83rd with a production of 4.68 million tons, HABAŞ ranked 85th with a production of 4.54 million tons, and İÇDAŞ ranked 104th with a production of 3.53 million tons.

When the aforementioned ranking is compared to the year 2020, HABAŞ moved up from 88th place to 85th place, and Tosyalı Holding from 85th place to 83rd place. While Erdemir has regressed one step, İÇDAŞ has regressed 5 steps.
