Wasserman has announced that it will support market requirements with a sustainable industry due to the growing demand for CO2 reduced steel.
In addition to its current activities, mechanical and facility engineering, Wasserman has also set its sights on a 'green' steel industry. For green steel, he reported that he will work with materials expected to come from Salzgitter subsidiary Ilsenburger Grobblech by Salcos (Salzgitter low CO2 steel production). These materials will enable the use of direct reduction activities and electric arc furnaces instead of blast furnaces.
According to market sources, comprehensive carbon-free steel production could be possible by 2033.
