German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen has announced that it will establish a facility in Europe for battery cell production.
According to the statement made by the company, it is planned to invest approximately 2 billion euros for battery production.
It is stated that the facility to be established in Salzgitter, Germany will provide employment for 2 thousand 500 people.
The exact location of the facilities will be determined in the first half of 2022. Volkswagen plans to open two more battery plants in Europe by 2030.
