Vietnam's steel imports and exports increased in January 2024.
According to the data shared by the General Directorate of Customs of Vietnam, the country's steel imports amounted to around 1.5 million tons in January 2024, an increase of 27.2% compared to December 2023 and a 151.3% increase compared to January 2023.
However, due to increasing steel imports, Vietnam's scrap imports decreased by approximately 19% monthly to 356,300 tons.
In January, Vietnam's steel exports reached 1.16 million tons, increasing 7.1% on a monthly basis and 84% on an annual basis.
