Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) announced on October 24 that anti-dumping (AD) duties on color-coated steel products imported from China and South Korea have been extended for another five years. The decision, which was taken to protect the domestic steel industry, will remain in effect until October 23, 2029.
The investigation by the MOIT concluded that ending the current AD measures could lead to the resumption or continuation of dumping practices, posing a risk of harm to local manufacturers. Accordingly, the anti-dumping duties assigned range from 0% to 34.27% for imports from China, while duties on South Korean products fall between 4.95% and 19.25%.
The extension affects flat-rolled, painted alloy and non-alloy steel products, which are categorized under several Harmonized System (HS) codes, including 7210.70.12, 7210.70.13, 7210.70.19, 7210.70.21, 7210.70.29, 7210.70.91, 7210.70.99, 7212.40.11, 7212.40.12, 7212.40.13, 7212.40.14, 7212.40.19, 7212.40.91, 7212.40.99, 7225.99.90, 7226.99.19, and 7226.99.99.
