It was reported that Vallourec, the leading French company in seamless pipe production, has decided to close its production facility in Germany. Sources indicated that the increase in energy prices in the country is the key reason behind this decision.
Vallourec's facility in Mülheim an der Ruhr will be permanently closed on December 31. It was noted that with the decision to close the facilities in Düsseldorf and Mülheim, which were previously owned by Mannesmannröhren-Werke, announced in May last year, a total of two facilities in Germany will be closed.
It is also pointed out that the increase in energy prices in Germany has made it difficult for the company to maintain its production capacity and activites.
