This growth is seen in comparison to March, although there is a noted 10.6% decrease when compared to the same month last year.
Turkey emerged as the largest importer of U.S. scrap in April, receiving 464,307 tonnes, marking significant increases of 79.7% from last year and 40.2% from the previous month. Other major destinations for U.S. scrap included Mexico, which imported 143,366 tonnes; Taiwan, with 116,942 tonnes; Bangladesh, receiving 86,424 tonnes; and India, at 72,858 tonnes.
In monetary terms, the value of U.S. scrap exports stood at $523.63 million for the month, showing a slight decline from $529.89 million in March and down from $593.63 million in April of the previous year.
