The US exported approximately 1.7 million tons of scrap in October this year, up 17.3 percent month on month and 15 percent higher than the same month of the previous year.
Among them, exports to Mexico had the largest share, with an increase of 8 percent month on month and an increase of 76 percent year on year, with approximately 322,000 tons.
Other major destinations for US scrap exports include India (about 314,100 tons), Malaysia (about 227,300 tons), Turkey (about 181,100 tons) and Taiwan (about 101,500 tons).
