US crude steel production increased

The US crude steel production increased by 0.6% w-o-w and 1% y-o-y in the week ending August 12.

However, the capacity utilization rate was 76.4%, a 0.5% increase w-o-w but a 1.6% y-o-y drop.

As of August 12, the adjusted year-to-date output was 54.61 million net tons, a 2.1% y-o-y drop, and the capacity utilization rate was 75.9%, a 3.8% y-o-y decrease.
