According to the data, in the week ended July 8, US crude steel production was around 1.71 million net tons, decreasing slightly by 1.7% yoy and 0.6% yoy.
In this period, capacity utilization rate fell by 2.1% on a weekly basis and by 2.9% yoy to 75.2%.
The US produced a total of around 46 million net tons of crude steel as of July 8, down by 2.8% from a year earlier. In addition, the capacity utilization rate was 75.8%, which represents a y/y decrease of 4.2%.
