At the beginning of each month, the Turkish Statistical Institute keeps the data for the previous month. Therefore, March inflation was announced on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 10:00 am. After the announcement of March inflation, the rate of increase in rents became clear. Inflation data was also the third data for pensioners and civil servants. According to the statement made by TUIK, the inflation rate in March was 2.29 percent on a monthly basis and 50.51 percent on an annual basis. Domestic Producer Price Index (D-FE) increased by 62.45 percent annually and 0.44 percent monthly.
In March, the main group with the highest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was restaurants and hotels with 70.73 percent. The main group that showed the least increase was clothing and shoes with 17.27 percent.
There was an increase of 67.89 percent in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 64.68 percent in health, 56.12 percent in housing, and 53.35 percent in household goods.
