According to information compiled by SteelRadar from the Çelik Boru ve Profil İmalatçıları Derneği (ÇEBİD), Türkiye's welded pipe production, which was 2.4 million tons in the first 6 months of 2022, decreased by 10% to 2.2 million tons in the same period of this year.
An interesting picture emerges when analyzed on a product basis. In the January-June period of 2022-2023, different trends are observed in the production of small and large diameter welded pipes. While small diameter welded pipe production decreased by 15.28% from 2.1 million tons to 1.8 million tons, large diameter welded pipe production increased by 30.22% from 278 thousand tons to 362 thousand tons.
The lowest production in 8 years was in 2015
Between 2014 and 2023, the highest production of small diameter welded pipes is recorded in 2022 with 4.8 million tons. The lowest production was recorded in 2015 with 3.4 million tons.
The highest production of large diameter pipe, which is produced considerably less than small diameter pipe, is observed in 2016 with 1.3 million tons. The lowest production was in 2021 with 379 thousand tons.
Looking at the total production, the highest pipe production is realized in 2016 with 5.2 million tons. The lowest production was recorded in 2014 with 4.2 million tons.
