Turkish Steel Exporters' Association (CIB) stated that steel exports from Turkiye to the Baltic countries increased after the European Union's sanctions against Russia. In the first nine months of this year, Turkiye's steel exports to Estonia and Latvia increased by 4.9 times, up 30% year on year, reaching approximately 70,000 tons and 21,000 tons, respectively.
According to Turkish steelmakers, demand from European consumers will increase further in 2023. Turkiye currently ranks seventh in world steel production.
