According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's iron ore imports in May increased by 42.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 616,500 tons to 878,944 tons. Compared to the previous month, April, it decreased by 17.7%.
Total iron ore imports in the January-May period increased by 56% to 4 million 480 thousand 971 tons from 2 million 872 thousand 456 tons.
Türkiye's highest iron ore imports in that month were from Brazil with 334,526 tons, followed by South Africa with 176,067 tons, Sweden with 164,994 tons, Ukraine with 75,901 tons, and Uzbekistan with 74,353 tons.
