According to data compiled by SteelRadar analysts from the Turkish Statistical Institute ( TUIK) and the Customs Undersecretariat's preliminary foreign trade data, Türkiye's iron and steel import value in December increased by 36.4% y-o-y to USD 2.20 billion.
In the said month, iron and steel import value ranked sixth in the list of products with the highest import value.
In 2024, iron and steel import value decreased by 2% compared to last year to USD 23.66 billion.
In the said month, the import value of iron or steel products ranked 13th in the list of the country's products with the highest import value. In December, the import value of iron or steel goods increased by 10% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached USD 337.99 million, while in 2024 it increased by 4.2% compared to 2023 and reached USD 4.2 billion.
