According to the information obtained by SteelRadar from the data of the Turkish Steel Producers Association (TÇÜD), Türkiye's exports of iron and steel products in the January-March 2024 period increased by 34.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, and increased by 12.2% in terms of price.
Türkiye's product with the highest export rate in the said period was flat cold rolled sheet. Flat cold rolled sheet exports, which were 58,360 tons in the first quarter of 2023, increased by 252.2% to 205,565 tons in the same period of this year. In dollar terms, it increased by 209%.
Flat cold rolled sheet was followed by wire rod with an increase of 136.8%. During the said period, wire rod exports increased by 174.3% compared to the previous year, from 129,367 tons to 354,908 tons. Export revenue increased by 136.8%.
The product with the highest export rate decrease in this period was seamless pipes. Türkiye's seamless pipe exports, which were 33,303 tons in the January-March period of 2023, decreased by 50.3% to 16,538 tons in the same period this year. Export revenue decreased by 43.3%.
