The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) announced crude steel production data for February 2024. Türkiye's crude steel production in February increased by 46.6% y-o-y to 3.1 million tons.
Türkiye's crude steel production decreased by 3.13% compared to the previous month, January. In January, crude steel production was 3.2 million tons.
As in January, Türkiye maintained its 7th place in the world crude steel production ranking in February.
China, the world's largest steel producer, is estimated to have produced 81.2 million tons of crude steel with an increase of 3.5%.
India, ranked second, produced 11.8 million tons, up 11.4%, Japan 7.0 million tons, up 1.1%, and the United States 6.5 million tons, down 1.2%.
Russia is estimated to have produced 5.7 million tons of crude steel, down 4.4%. South Korea produced 5.1 million tons, down 1.5%, Germany 3.1 million tons, up 4.4%, Brazil 2.8 million tons, up 13.1%, and Iran 2.2 million tons, up 14.3%.
