Türkiye sea freight 2023 January-September statistics announced

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that according to the latest data, the amount of cargo handled at Turkish ports in the January-September period was 391 million 801 thousand 393 tons and the amount of containers was 9 million 369 thousand 438 TEU (20-foot equivalent unit).

Emphasizing that intensive work is being carried out to increase the share of the sea freight sector in Türkiye's economy, Uraloğlu said, "The amount of cargo handled in our ports in September was recorded as 42 million 459 thousand 19 tons. In the January-September period, the total amount of cargo handled reached 391 million 801 thousand 393 tons. While the amount of export loading was 12 million 47 thousand 178 tons in September, the amount of import unloading increased by 2.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 19 million 977 thousand 793 tons. Foreign trade transportation increased to 32 million 24 thousand 971 tons in September."
