Türkiye has completely suspended its trade with Israel

The Ministry of Trade announced that export and import trade with Israel has been stopped for all products, adding, "Türkiye will strictly and firmly implement these new measures until the Israeli government allows the flow of uninterrupted and sufficient humanitarian aid to Gaza." He issued a statement.

Türkiye has completely suspended its trade with Israel

It was stated that as a result of Israel's attacks against Palestine, which violate international law and human rights, more than 35 thousand Palestinian civilians, including 15 thousand children, have lost their lives and about 78 thousand Palestinian citizens have been injured.

It was emphasized that since October 7, 2023, Türkiye has tried at the highest level to end the conflicts, prevent human casualties and physical destruction, ensure a permanent ceasefire and implement the two-state solution, and has used all means of diplomacy.

In the statement, Our country has come to the aid of the people of Gaza since day one, delivering tens of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid, especially food, health and medical supplies, to the region by ship and plane, evacuating thousands of patients and standing by our Palestinian brothers in these difficult days.

However, the massacre, humanitarian catastrophe and physical destruction by Israel continued, and the Israeli government left international efforts for a ceasefire unanswered and blocked humanitarian aid. As a result, Türkiye restricted the export of 54 product groups to Israel with effect from April 9, 2024.

This decision emphasized that the restriction measures will remain in force until Israel declares an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and allows a sufficient and uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the Israeli government continues its aggressive stance and the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine continues to worsen.

In this respect, the second phase of the measures taken at the state level has begun, and export and import transactions related to Israel have been stopped, covering all products.

Türkiye will strictly and decisively implement these new measures until the Israel Government allows an uninterrupted and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

On the other hand, the necessary work is being coordinated between our Ministry of Commerce and the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy to ensure that our Palestinian brothers who have to live under occupation are not affected by these restrictions.

The Republic of Türkiye will continue to support the just cause of our Palestinian brothers, as it has done so far.
