Türkiye, China and India come to the forefront in EU pipe and profile quotas

According to data collected by SteelRadar from the European Commission, Türkiye, China and India utilised the European Union (EU) pipe and profile quotas at full capacity, while other countries used these quotas at low rates.

Approaching the end of 2024, Türkiye has used 99,461 tons of hollow sections and 15,095 tons of pipes (wide seam), 67.6% of 38,497 tons of pipes (other seam) and 33.5% of 107,140 tons of commercial bars and light profiles, respectively.

Looking at China, the country stands out by utilising some of its pipe and profile products at full capacity. These were 38,808 tons of pipe (other seamless) and 8,161 tons of pipe (other welded). China's utilisation in the other pipe and profile group is as follows:

63.2% of the 141,807 tons of commercial bar and light profile quota and 33.7% of the 933 tons of stainless pipe (seamless) quota were used.

India used 32,082 tons of stainless bar and light section and 5,945 tons of stainless pipe (seamless).

In the merchant bar and light profile product group, Switzerland used 21.4% of its quota of 68,859 tons and the United Kingdom used 11.1% of its quota of 118,470 tons.

In the stainless bars and light profile product group, Switzerland used 42.9% of its quota of 4,614 tons and the United Kingdom used 25.5% of its quota of 4,688 tons.

In the hollow sections product group, the United Kingdom used 36.8% of its quota of 53,047 tons, Macedonia used 59% of its quota of 29,364 tons, and Switzerland used 1.2% of its quota of 16,232 tons.

In the stainless pipe (seamless) product group, Japan used 86.4% of its quota of 1,088 tons, South Korea used 19% of its quota of 1,170 tons, and the United Kingdom used 5% of its quota of 1,889 tons.

In the pipe (other welded) product group, the United Kingdom used 49.2% of its quota of 11,756 tons, the United States used 13.2% of its quota of 8,519 tons, Switzerland used 6.6% of its quota of 48,607 tons and Taiwan used 36.6% of its quota of 9,108 tons.

In the pipe (wide seam) product group, the United Kingdom used 28.4% of its quota of 6,202 tons.
