Turkish steel majors increase in global ranking in 2023

Turkish steel sector continues to make strong progress on the world stage. Tosyalı Holding, increasing 14 positions from 2022, rose to 63rd place in the global ranking in the 2023 steel production ranking released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

By increasing its production by 25.6% in 2023, Tosyalı Holding, the world's largest 63rd steel producer, became the second company to make the biggest leap among the world's top 100 steel producers.

Erdemir Group slipped four positions

Erdemir Group took its place on the list. Erdemir, which entered the list in 48th place in 2022, dropped four positions in 2023 to 52nd place. Erdemir's production showed a 7.8% decrease in 2023.

As Habaş entered the list among the Turkish steel companies, it ranked 87th in 2023. Showing a 2-step increase compared to the previous year, Habaş's production increased by 2.9%.

The significant leap of Tosyalı Holding, the resilience of Erdemir Group, and the stable rise of Habaş once again highlight Türkiye's strength and potential in steel production. The 2023 data from the World Steel Association proves how important a place Turkish companies hold on the international stage.
