Turkish imports of steel billets from Ukraine in February amounted to 9.69 thousand tons.

At the end of February 2024, Türkiye imported 9.68 thousand tons of steel billets from Ukraine. The total volume of imports of steel billets to Türkiye in February of this year amounted to 221.35 thousand tons (+ 15.3% m/m, - 11.2% y/y). At the same time, the value of imports amounted to $129.8 million (+ 19.2% mom, - 9.3% y/y).

In January-February 2024, the country imported 30.68 thousand tons of Ukrainian billets.

Over two months, Turkish metallurgists reduced imports of billets by 28.9%, amounting to 413.27 thousand tons, and the cost of these imports decreased by 27% to $238.68 million.

The main suppliers of products to Türkiye in January-February of this year were Russia (100 thousand tons), Indonesia (59.73 thousand tons) and Saudi Arabia (51.49 thousand tons).

Russia accounted for 24% of total imports during the period, Indonesia – 14%, and Saudi Arabia – 12%. Ukraine's share was 7%.
