Türkiye's slab imports continued to increase in September

During the first nine months of 2023, Türkiye's supply sources continued to diversify, with increased tonnages coming from Asia; Russia continued to be the primary supplier of semi-finished goods.

During the month of September alone, Türkiye imported a total of 193,341 tons of slab, showcasing the growing demand for steel products. The three primary supplier countries contributing to this influx were Russia, Malaysia, and Brazil.

Russia led the way with an impressive 114,527 tons of slab exported to Türkiye in September, reinforcing its status as the leading provider of semi-finished goods to the Turkish market. Malaysia followed suit, contributing 27,133 tons to Türkiye's growing import figures, highlighting the emergence of new suppliers from the Asian region.

Brazil also played a significant role in Türkiye's slab imports, supplying 51,680 tons during the same period.
