Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the inflation data for February. Accordingly, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.46% on a monthly basis in February, while annual inflation decreased to 38.10%.
The Biggest Increase in Housing
The annual changes in the three main expenditure groups with the largest shares were 37.12% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 21.59% for transportation and 68.63% for housing. Their impact on the annual change was 9.51% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 3.65% for transportation and 9.47% for housing.
When monthly changes were analyzed, the changes in these three main expenditure groups were 4.94% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 0.25% for transportation and 2.10% for housing.
