Algerian steel producer Tosyali Algerie has announced the launch of its hot-rolled coil (HRC) exports, aiming to strengthen its presence in international markets. The company has completed its first shipments to Tunisia, Spain, and Italy, marking a significant step in its European market expansion.
According to Tosyali Algerie's Foreign Trade Director, Ezzy Ramsay, the company has shipped 30,000 tons of HRC to Italy alone, generating USD 16 million in revenue. The company’s goal is to reach an export volume of USD 2 billion by the end of the year.
This export milestone follows the commissioning of Tosyali Algerie's flat steel production facilities last year. In May 2024, the company launched a new flat steel plant featuring an electric arc furnace with an annual production capacity of 2.2 million tons. Additionally, a cold rolling mill with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons and a galvanizing line with a 400,000-ton annual capacity are set to be commissioned in 2025.
Tosyali Holding has expanded its steel production capacity to 15 million tons per year through investments in both Türkiye and abroad. With this growth strategy, the company aims to further strengthen its position in the global market.
