Tokyo Steel has begun detailed considerations to expand post-production processes at its Tahara Plant (Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture) to make a full-fledged entry into the automotive sector.
In parallel with the restart of the pickling line at the same plant in August-September 2012, arrangements are being made for the installation of a new cold rolling mill and a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line (CGL), a post-pickling process.
Total investment is expected to exceed 50 billion yen. The CGL will be used in conjunction with the continuous annealing line (CAL) and is planned to be used for annealing cold-rolled steel sheets.
