Turkish exporters shift focus to the American continent in distant markets

Türkiye is aiming for $265 billion in exports in 2024. Turkish exporters are increasing their marketing activities in line with the Ministry of Trade's Strategy for Distant Countries to reach this target. The Aegean Exporters' Associations will organize a General Qualified Trade Delegation to Canada in September and to the US in November.

Turkish exporters shift focus to the American continent in distant markets

The Aegean Exporters' Associations, which have been working for 85 years to increase Türkiye's exports, will bring Turkish exporters and Canadian importers together in a General Qualified Trade Delegation in Montreal, Canada, on September 22-24, 2024.

The next destination for the Aegean Exporters' Associations in 2024 on the American continent will be Los Angeles, USA, from November 12-16, 2024. In Los Angeles, EİB will bring together all export sectors with American importers in a General Qualified Trade Delegation.

Eskinazi; "We aim for $5 billion in foreign trade with Canada"

Providing information that Canada and the United States are among the 56 target countries set by the Ministry of Trade for 2024, Aegean Exporters' Associations Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi expressed their aim to increase the $3 billion foreign trade volume between the two countries to $5 billion. While Türkiye exported $1.634 billion to Canada in 2023, importing $1.304 billion, Eskinazi stated that they aim to increase the foreign trade volume to $5 billion.

We achieved an 18% increase in exports to Canada in 2024

Eskinazi provided information that Türkiye's exports to Canada increased by 18% from $503 million to $592 million in the period of January - May 2024. He stated that the steel sector leads with an export growth rate of 83% and $172 million in exports. While our chemical products exports were $56 million, the furniture, paper, and forestry products sector made $39.5 million in exports. Our cereals leguminous oilseeds exports increased by 22% from $28.8 million to $35.2 million. Our fifth sector became the ready-made clothing and apparel sector with $30 million in foreign exchange revenue. We want to further elevate this success graph with the Trade Delegation and aim to increase our exports to Canada to $2 billion by the end of 2024. We invite our exporters to participate in this event" he said.
