There have been a lot of rumors around this mine and plant lately, which are not true; the Pokrovsky plant is not closing, but is suspending ore mining and concentrate production to build up reserves and carry out repair work.
Pokrovsky GOK partially resumed production in April after being idle since December 1, 2022. The processing plant has been idle and has not produced concentrate since October 1, 2022.
The Marganets Mining and Processing Plant, another large Ukrainian producer of manganese ore, suspended ore mining and processing in October 2023.
