Damage assessment studies were carried out in 2 million 196 thousand 88 independent units located in 481 thousand 865 buildings in the provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes. It was determined that 263 thousand 800 independent units in 61 thousand 722 buildings, whose damage assessment work was completed, were heavily damaged and demolished, and needed urgent demolition,

According to the written statement made by the T.C. Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, damage assessment studies continue in the areas affected by earthquakes.

As of today, the Ministry made inspections in 2 million 196 thousand 88 independent units located in 481 thousand 865 buildings. Within the scope of the studies carried out, it was determined that 263 thousand 800 independent units in 61 thousand 722 buildings were in need of urgent demolition, heavily damaged and demolished. It was determined that 86 thousand 673 independent units in 13 thousand 917 buildings were moderately damaged, 749 thousand 654 independent units in 121 thousand 515 buildings were slightly damaged, and 915 thousand 723 independent units in 229 thousand 23 buildings were undamaged.

In the study carried out in a total of 34 thousand 578 buildings, damage assessment studies were carried out for 115 thousand 46 independent units. During the studies, it was determined that 29,703 independent units in 6,990 buildings were heavily damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 11 thousand 179 independent units in 2 thousand 613 buildings were moderately damaged, 38 thousand 823 independent units in 11 thousand 694 buildings were slightly damaged, and 21 thousand 365 independent units in 9 thousand 310 buildings were undamaged.

Adana:

Damage assessment work was carried out in 7,724 buildings and 127,269 independent units in total. Accordingly, it was determined that 1,274 independent sections in 59 buildings were severely damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 7,270 independent units in 304 buildings were moderately damaged, 38,261 independent units in 1,688 buildings were slightly damaged, and 78,40 independent units in 5,313 buildings were undamaged.

Diyarbakır:

Damage assessment studies were carried out in 294 thousand 814 independent units in a total of 28 thousand 969 buildings. It was determined that 6,932 independent units in 643 buildings were found to be heavily damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 10 thousand 95 independent units in 718 buildings were moderately damaged, 86 thousand 925 independent units in 6 thousand 725 buildings were slightly damaged, and 178 thousand 216 independent units in 18 thousand 39 buildings were undamaged.

130 buildings moderately damaged in Elazığ

Damage assessment work was carried out in 30,703 independent units in a total of 3,114 buildings. It was determined that 4 thousand 43 independent units in 664 buildings were heavily damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was seen that 801 independent units in 138 buildings were moderately damaged, 15 thousand 532 independent units in 1460 buildings were slightly damaged, and 9 thousand 503 independent units in 723 buildings were undamaged.

Gaziantep:

Damage assessment work was carried out in 586 thousand 628 independent units in a total of 156 thousand 482 buildings. It was determined that 31 thousand 522 independent units in 12 thousand 964 buildings were heavily damaged and demolished, which required urgent demolition. It was determined that 17 thousand 50 independent units in 4 thousand 361 buildings were moderately damaged, 179 thousand 149 independent units in 29 thousand 471 buildings were slightly damaged, and 309 thousand 389 independent units in 89 thousand 92 buildings were undamaged.

Heavy damage or destruction detected in 15,248 buildings in Hatay

Damage assessment work was carried out in 239,142 independent units in a total of 68,116 buildings. It was observed that 71,735 independent units in 15,248 buildings were heavily damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 18 thousand 146 independent units in 2 thousand 827 buildings were moderately damaged, 62 thousand 34 independent units in 17 thousand 212 buildings were slightly damaged, and 74 thousand 851 independent units in 29 thousand 188 buildings were undamaged.

Damage detected in 44 thousand 157 buildings in Kahramanmaraş

Kahramanmaraş: Damage assessment studies were carried out in 258 thousand 523 independent units in a total of 69 thousand 577 buildings. It was determined that 60 thousand 51 independent units in 12 thousand 980 buildings were severely damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 7 thousand 671 independent units in 1,058 buildings were moderately damaged, 99 thousand 481 independent units with 20 thousand 556 buildings were slightly damaged, and 61 thousand 932 independent units in 25 thousand 420 buildings were undamaged.

Kilis:

Damage assessment work was carried out in 31,904 independent units in a total of 6,608 buildings. It was determined that 1,224 independent units in 812 buildings were heavily damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 1033 independent units in 137 buildings were moderately damaged, 16 thousand 296 independent units in 2 thousand 208 buildings were slightly damaged, and 12 thousand 228 independent units in 2 thousand 849 buildings were undamaged.

Malatya: Damage assessment studies were carried out in a total of 32 thousand 344 buildings and 174 thousand 293 independent units. It was determined that 44 thousand 996 independent units in 8 thousand 365 buildings were severely damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 6 thousand 617 independent units in 945 buildings were moderately damaged, 59 thousand 825 independent units in 8 thousand 960 buildings were slightly damaged, and 31 thousand 894 independent units in 7 thousand 463 buildings were undamaged.

Osmaniye

Damage assessment studies were carried out in 108 thousand 162 independent units in a total of 34 thousand 797 buildings. It was determined that 9 thousand 595 independent units in 2,531 buildings were heavily damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 2 thousand 104 independent units in 266 buildings were moderately damaged, 40 thousand 929 independent units in 8 thousand 34 buildings were slightly damaged, and 51 thousand 409 independent units in 22 thousand 41 buildings were undamaged.

Şanlıurfa:

Damage assessment work was carried out in 229 thousand 605 independent units in a total of 39 thousand 557 buildings. It was determined that 2,725 independent units in 466 buildings were heavily damaged and demolished, requiring urgent demolition. It was determined that 4 thousand 707 independent units in 550 buildings were moderately damaged, 112 thousand 399 independent units in 13 thousand 507 buildings were slightly damaged, and 86 thousand 896 independent units in 19 thousand 585 buildings were undamaged.
