Kadoshnikov also said that 2023 was a successful year for Russian steelmakers due to the growth in domestic consumption despite the reduction in exports. Domestic metal consumption in Russia grew by 12.7%.
MMK produces more than 17% of all rolled steel products on the Russian market, leading in the segments of premium steel products, steel for the automotive industry, galvanised, painted rolled products, and hardware products. The pipe industry accounts for one third of the Company's supplies to the Russian market, demonstrating significant potential for further growth.
In 2023, MMK mastered production of several types of rolled products for pipe mills, including 21.6 mm thick hot-rolled flat products of strength class K60 with reduced alloying, products for severe climatic zones and extreme operating conditions, and 10 mm thick corrosion-resistant hot-rolled coils.
