Sources reported that the US State Department has forwarded its decision on the sale of new F-16s to Turkey and the modernization kits of existing F-16s to the chairmen and senior members of the relevant committees of the House of Representatives and Senate for preliminary examination.
According to sources, the US State Department is expected to formally announce next week that it has communicated its decision to Congress.
For military sales approvals to take place in the United States, Congress must not object to NATO member countries within 15 days and non-NATO countries within 30 days.
