The amount of damage to the industry in the earthquake zones reached 170 billion TL

The amount of damage to the industry in the earthquake zones reached 170 billion TL. Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said that the damage screening carried out by the teams in order to reveal the situation and needs of the industry in the regions affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş has been completed, and said, "We estimate that the cost for infrastructure, building damage, machinery and stock damage will be 170 billion liras." made the statement.

The amount of damage to the industry in the earthquake zones reached 170 billion TL

According to the statement made by the Ministry, Varank continued its investigations on the industrial facilities damaged in the earthquake region in Adıyaman. Varank, who moved to the city center after Gölbaşı and Besni districts, chaired the consultation meeting with the industrialists held in Adıyaman Organized Industrial Zone (OSB).

Listening to the problems of the industrialists at the meeting, Varank expressed the following words about what was done at the solution point and the planned arrangements:

"Of course, we cannot bring back the lives we lost, but you should have no doubt that we will do our best to relieve the pain of those left behind and heal their wounds. For this, we are always in the region with all our friends. We will never leave you alone. We will do our best here with buildings and workplaces, just as we did in previous disasters in our country. It is our duty to re-establish new, safe settlements with its infrastructure and superstructure."

Varank informed that the teams completed the damage screening in OIZs, industrial sites or individual production factories in order to reveal the current situation and needs of the industry in the earthquake region, and stated that there were partial damages in the infrastructure of 7 of 34 OIZs in the region.

Emphasizing that they immediately started repairs and renovations in these areas, Varank said, "There are approximately 5,600 facilities with heavy and moderate damage in OIZs and industrial sites. In our remaining 33 thousand facilities, 'mostly low-capacity and partial' productions have started and continues. We estimate that the cost for infrastructure, building damage, machinery and stock damage will be 170 billion liras." made its assessment.

Noting that 171 factories survived this disaster without damage, Varank continued his statements as follows:

"There are also destroyed and damaged buildings in 6 active industrial sites. We foresee that the industrial damage in Adıyaman, together with the production facilities outside the OIZ and the industrial site, is over 7 billion liras. We will also make up for our deficiencies at the point of industry and production for Adıyaman. First of all, we postponed the loan debts of the OIZ and industrial estates to our Ministry for one year. We will declare the suitable areas in the disaster area as 'industrial areas', taking into account the earthquake criteria. We will immediately build new industrial workplaces in these areas. We will also provide support for the on-site reconstruction of damaged industrial workplaces according to ground suitability.”

Varank stated that they included the districts that caused heavy destruction by earthquakes in the Attraction Centers Program to encourage new investments to be made in the region, so that all investments to be made would benefit from the highest incentives, namely the 6th Region incentives.

In addition, reminding that they have commissioned the KOSGEB Emergency Support Loan Program to meet the urgent needs of SMEs, Varank said, "We will provide interest-free loan support up to 1.5 million liras to our SMEs, depending on the size of the business and the damage it has received. Again, in the disaster area, KOSGEB receivables will be partially or completely "I have already stated that we have started our work on the deletion of the container. One of the biggest needs in the region is the housing problem of our working brothers. At this point, we have decided to provide support up to 30 thousand liras per container to SMEs that will buy containers. Thus, our SMEs that provide shelter to their employees are much more We aim for him to recover quickly.” used the phrases.
