The Department of Foreign Trade of Thailand (DFT) has imposed anti-dumping duties of 30.91% on imports of alloy hot-rolled coils from China. The move extends existing anti-dumping measures on Chinese HRC.
The DFT launched an investigation on September 16, 2023, targeting 17 Chinese steel mills producing hot rolled alloy coils. The investigation aimed to determine whether the producers violated existing anti-dumping duties.
The products under investigation in the latest investigation fall under the following HS codes:
7225.3090.022, 7225.3090.023, 7225.3090.024, 7225.3090.042, 7225.3090.090, 7225.4090.034, 7225.4090.090, 7226. 9110.022, 7226.9110.023, 7226.9110.024, 7226.9110.042, 7226.9110.090, 7226.9190.022, 7226.9190.023, 7226.9190.024
On August 1, the DFT confirmed the imposition of anti-dumping duties of 30.91% on alloy hot-rolled coil from China. These duties will reportedly be applied retroactively from September of the previous year. The duration of the duties will be in line with the existing anti-dumping tariffs on Chinese HRC, which were last reviewed in July 2023, it added. The measures on alloy HRC from China will be reassessed around July 2028.
