India's Tata Steel has announced that its Jamshedpur plant has received its first Indian Standards Bureau (BIS) license for the production of Weatherproof Structural Steel (Corten Steel).
This special grade steel is applied to shipping containers and other heavy-duty weatherproof applications, including railroad car side panels, rice mill containers, building construction, city furniture, luxury artwork, signs, chimineas, and fire bowls.
The size of the spheroidal weathering steel market was around US$990 million in 2018 and was expected to increase by 2025 with a 5.6% YBBO.
