Tata Steel Europe improved in rail deliveries in the first quarter

Steel production in the January-March period of 2023 remained unchanged compared to the same period of 2022, amounting to 2.31 million tons.

In the 2022-2023 fiscal year (April 2022 - March 2023), Tata Steel Europe's rolled shipments decreased 10% y-o-y to 8.12 million tons and steel production decreased 7% to 9.38 million tons.

At the end of February 2023, Tata Steel Netherlands declared force majeure due to difficulties in modernizing the cold rolling mill.

The modernization of cold rolling mill №21 at the Eimeiden plant has been underway since August 2022. The company strives to improve surface quality and product thickness control. However, due to difficulties, layoffs continue, which puts undue pressure on the company's supply chain and prevents it from fully meeting its obligations.
