The company has been upgrading the cold rolled factory 21 since August to improve the surface quality and gauge control, but it seems that some problems have prolonged the outage.
Tata said IJmuiden had put undue pressure on its supply chain and had failed to fully meet its delivery obligations. Force majeure also affected cold-rolled coil and some hot-dip galvanized.

"The company deeply regrets the impact this situation has had on customers and will continue to explore all options to minimise disruption to customers' operations," Tata said.
