ABB India and Tata Steel have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create innovative technologies that will help reduce the carbon footprint of steel production. ABB aims to bring global experience in automation, electrification and digitalization to the metals industry.
The two companies will focus on Tata Steel's production facilities and develop options for energy efficiency, decarbonization and recycling.
In addition, Tata Steel aims to increase its capacity to 40 million tons per year by 2030.
