Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Walsin Lihwa, both prominent players in Taiwan's stainless steel industry, have decided to set their August prices through individual negotiations with customers. Yusco highlighted that various factors, including raw material costs, energy prices, and exchange rates, will influence the final pricing, which will be tailored according to the quantity and specifications requested by customers.
Meanwhile, Walsin Lihwa announced that the recent flooding caused by Typhoon Gaemi at their Yenshui plant has resulted in a two-week production halt for maintenance, impacting their delivery schedules. The company is currently prioritizing the fulfillment of existing orders and will also negotiate August prices for their stainless steel wire rod on a case-by-case basis, similar to Yusco's approach.
