Successful Premiere of GIFA and METEC INDONESIA 2023

Messe Düsseldorf celebrated a successful premiere in Jakarta with GIFA and METEC INDONESIA as the new authoritative metallurgy and foundry platforms for Indonesia’s emerging market from September 13 to 16, 2023.

Successful Premiere of GIFA and METEC INDONESIA 2023

About 200 exhibitors from 18 countries and more than 4,900 trade visitors from all sectors of the foundry and metallurgical industries took part in the events at the JIEXPO Convention Center. In addition to local companies, exhibitors from Italy, Sweden, the U.S., and Germany, among others, also came to Indonesia.
The trade show duo impressed with a wide range of machines, equipment, and technologies, from additive manufacturing and foundry machines to processing equipment and new technologies for user industries in various vertical markets, such as the automotive industry, the construction industry, the energy and gas sector, and users from metal and steel plants. In addition, high-level seminars and an international lecture series on current industry trends provided space for discussion and facilitated an exchange of experience among experts. Malte Seifert, Director of “The Bright World of Metals” at Messe Düsseldorf, stressed Indonesia’s potential for good business and delighted at the successful start of GIFA and METEC INDONESIA: “We are absolutely delighted to see how well our new GIFA and METEC satellite shows for the Asian market were received by the trade audience. They were held in parallel with the 20th Mining Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest international trade show for mining equipment, mineral extraction, and processing. Together, the events form an integrated business platform for the mining, metallurgy, and foundry supply chain, providing all participants with valuable synergy effects. Beyond this, Indonesia offers a large market for the foundry and metallurgical industries and, hence, great business potential. European companies seeking new, important market partners and wanting to stay competitive, have to come to Jakarta because Indonesia is becoming increasingly important as an emerging nation in the strategically so relevant region of Asia. With GIFA and METEC Indonesia we offer a unique know-how transfer not available at any other trade show in this market.”

GIFA and METEC INDONESIA were received very well with their ranges by the expert audience and international companies. Jan Eilers, General Manager at MAGMA ENGINEERING ASIA-PACIFIC PTE LTD, summed up: “GIFA Indonesia is an important event providing the sector with an outstanding platform for presenting technology innovations. We managed to personally talk to industry leaders, thereby promoting cooperation and knowledge exchange. Although this was only the first event, we are convinced that it will play a decisive role in driving technological progress and conserving the irreplaceable value of personal contacts in the Indonesian exhibition landscape.” Dr. Jan-Chr. Schrag, Managing Director of CS Additive GmbH, a market leader for low-sulfur carburizing pellets, stressed: “The participation in the well-attended trade show in Indonesia proved a success for our company. It is an important support for our market development in Southeast Asia. We had promising talks with customers, collecting important information. We look forward to the participation next year.”

The new trade shows are backed up by Messe Düsseldorf Asia (MDA) in Singapore, Messe Düsseldorf Group’s subsidiary for the Southeast Asian market, alongside PT Pamerindo Indonesia, Indonesia’s leading trade show organizer and part of Informa Markets, one of the world’s largest trade show companies.

The dates for GIFA and METEC INDONESIA 2024 have already been set: September 11 to 14, at the JIExpo Convention Centre again.
