According to the German steel shareholders' association data, steel sales in Germany reached 807.924 million tonnes, with an increase of approximately 74% in January sales of German steel distributors.
BDS data indicates that steel sales decreased by 3.4% compared to the whole of 2023, while steel sales increased by 74% in January. It was reported that stocks decreased with the increase in steel sales in January, and distributors avoided restocking due to the recession in the sector.
According to data, flat-rolled steel accounted for 535,192 mt of sales in January, while long-rolled product increased by 42% to 203.901 million tonnes in January.
