South32, an Australian metals producer, has upgraded the mineral resource estimate at its Taylor zinc-lead and Clark manganese deposits.
The Clark deposit plans to produce up to 185,000 t/yr of high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) for the North American market.
The Taylor deposit, the first mining project to be included in the new federal US FAST-41 permitting process, is expected to have an underground mine with a 4.3mn t/yr ore processing operation.
The feasibility study is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
