Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek conducted meetings in the capital of France, Paris, as part of investment tours where he explained Turkey's economic policies to foreign investors. After the meetings, Minister Şimşek shared his thoughts on social media through the X account.
Şimşek made the following statements via the X account:
"We managed to cover a lot in our one-day visit to France yesterday. In the morning, we first met with members of MEDEF, the largest business association in France, hosted by Jean LEMIERRE, the Chairman of the Board of BNP Paribas. Later, under the hosting of Societe Generale, we presented the Turkish economy and our program to the top executives of investment funds and banks managing approximately 4 trillion euros based in France. Additionally, I had a meeting with my friend Mr. Fatih BİROL, the President of the International Energy Agency, regarding the outlook of the global energy market. We discussed how to increase our bilateral trade and mutual investments with Mr. Bruno Le MAIRE, the Minister of Economy and Finance of France. Finally, last night, at the France-Germany Forum, we presented investment opportunities in Turkey to CEOs/CFOs of around 70 companies. France is among the top 10 countries investing the most internationally in Turkey. Our meetings with investors will continue with our visits to Gulf countries starting next week. The purpose of our visits is to explain the new program of our country and attract permanent investments that will provide employment and high added value."
