Furthermore, specific segments within the industry also exhibited strong growth over the previous month. Hot-rolled steel production surged by 39.3% reaching 171,500 tons, while cold-rolled steel production rose by 34.9% to 81,100 tons. Additionally, production of long products matched the increase rate of cold-rolled steel, growing by 34.9% to total 114,200 tons.
Despite these monthly gains, the annual comparison reveals a less positive trend. Crude steel production in April showed a decline of 26.3% compared to the same month last year. The outputs of hot-rolled steel decreased by 20.9%, cold-rolled steel by 28.6%, and long products by 38.3%.
