China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry announced that between January and May 2023, the revenue of 74 shipbuilding companies increased by 31% year-on-year, amounting to approximately RMB 137 billion. As a result, these companies made a profit of RMB 4 billion.
In the first five months of 2023, China's new ship orders account for approximately 67% of orders in the global market; 22% of South Korea's new ship orders; 8% of Japan's new ship orders.
