Saudi Arabia plans to create a new and smart city that uses renewable energy

In Saudi Arabia, construction has begun on a smart city that will run entirely on renewable energy, with no cars, streets or anything else to create carbon emissions.

Saudi Arabia plans to create a new and smart city that uses renewable energy
Designed within the Saudi Vision 2030 project, The Line will be part of the city of Neom, which is planned to be established in the Tabuk Region of Saudi Arabia. The project is planned to be built on a 26,500 km2 land at the tip of the Red Sea. A $500 billion investment has been made to redevelop the city in a smartly designed way.
Neom's industrial expansion will contribute to ambitious accommodation projects, including the Saudi Arabian peninsula's first major open-air ski resort and a luxury holiday complex consisting of three major hotels and an expanding marina.
Within the scope of the project to be realized in the historical city of Tabuk, the mega project group that makes up Neom's smart city complex will be built. Mega projects will include Neom Bay and Neom Bay Airport, as well as a floating industrial complex known as Oxagon and 6,500 hectares of farmland.
The Line, which will be created within the Neom project, will be spread over an area of 170 kilometers and will extend from east to west from the Red Sea coast to the city of Tabuk. When completed, the project will be able to host about 9 million people.
A different alternative to traditional city planning that spans all directions from a single central point, The Line will have a total area of only 34 km2 and will keep all the daily necessities of its residents within a five-minute walk.
