According to the statement made by the company, Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH will receive 114 megawatts of green electricity from Iberdrola under the 15-year electricity supply contract signed with Spanish energy producer Iberdrola. It is among the information obtained that the electricity to be supplied will come from the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, which is currently under construction in the German Baltic Sea and is scheduled to be started by the end of 2024. It is known that Salzgitter will use the green electricity supplied by Iberdrola to produce green hydrogen, which is an important component of green steel production.
