Russia's Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) announced that crude steel production was about 4.3 million tons in the second quarter, an increase of 1% compared to the previous quarter due to the higher capacity utilization of the Russian long products department. In addition, January-June was about 8.7 million tons, an increase of 4% y-o-y.
The NLMK Group sold 8.5 million tons of sheet products, an increase of 8% compared to January-June.
Also, as U.S. demand grew, export volume increased by about 4% in the last quarter to about 1.6 million tons.
