Russia increased steel production by 3.8% in June

In June 2023, steel production in Russia increased by 3.8% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 5.8 million tons. The total volume of steel production in January-June increased by 1% to 37.5 million tons.

The cumulative steel production in June 2023 for Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries amounted to 6.8 million tons, which is 5.2% more than in the previous year. However, in the first half of 2023, these countries produced a total of 43.3 million tons of steel, demonstrating a decrease of 3.4%.
